Love them and MADE IN THE USA ????

Bought these for my husband for his birthday. He was thinking he wanted Cedar, I liked how low maintenance these are. I preferred the toffee color because it resembled the wood color. They were easy to assemble (was more difficult getting the box open) very comfortable and sturdy. Only problem is the color I ordered seems to be backordered or out of stock and can't order more. Hoping they get more eventually. Definitely recommend AND they're MADE IN THE USA!

Survived northest winter and summer outside times 8 years. Just bought a new one to add to the ones i bought 8 years ago. You cannot tell them apart.

These are great chairs

I love my Highwood Adirondack chairs. We looked at several other brands online and bought a few of these and a set of the LL bean ones. The LL bean ones looked so cheap and plasticky. Everyone would ask us where we got the Highwood ones and what they were made of. Also in the mornings the LL bean chairs would stay wet a lot longer so you would have to wipe them off to sit on them. I really regretted not just having bought all my chairs from Highwood. We ended up selling the LL bean ones. Also the Highwood ones stayed clean easier. I would recommend these outdoor chairs.

Great chair!

I bought one of these to see if the quality and comfort was good. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm 5'11" and it is very comfortable, reminds me very much of the chairs I sat in at various lodges in the Adirondaks as a kid. My wife is shorter (4'11") and it's "Not bad" for her, her feet don't touch the ground though, so I ordered the matching ottoman for her's. Assembly was simple and the quality of construction is great. The material also feels similar to wood. I'm hoping these hold up to the sun as well as they are supposed to. My only recommendation to the manufacturer would be to continue the block of material that is on the front underside of the arms all the way to the back of the chair. The way it is is fine but it flexes a bit when putting weight on it. Not to the point where I'd fear it would break but stronger is better, especially when the arm is such an inviting place for someone to come sit.

Durable, High Quality Construction....But the design isn't comfortable.

This is a very high quality chair, built with durable materials that can take the beating from outdoor use. Don't confuse it with one of those cheap one-piece injection molded chairs. This one looks and feels much closer to a traditional Adirondack chair. Each of the parts is individually molded and assembled in a very solid construction technique. For this, it should deserve a 5-star rating. My disappointment with this chair comes from its design. Unlike other Adirondack chairs I've purchased over the years, the angle between the back and the seat is tighter. The back of the chair is at the normal angle to the ground, but your legs and knees are in a more upright position than other Adirondack chairs. It isn't comfortable. You aren't stretching out your legs the same way you would with a traditional design. And if you are shorter than 5'11'' it is downright uncomfortable. Why would they deviate from a tried and true design? I suspect it is to shorten the long runners that support the seat slats and also serve as the rear legs of the chair - in order to minimize the quantity of material necessary to produce this chair. Unfortunately - it is those very parts that define an Adirondack chair. I really wish I could provide a 5 star rating for this chair, but with the design flaw I really can't recommend it as a comfortable replacement for a traditional wood Adirondack chair.
