Bought for scrapping

This does what it says it will. We do a lot of scrapping. This is way easier than burning off the coatings. keeps it clean and easy. If your looking to scrap and get the most out of your scrap wire. I highly recommend.

Works Great!

I bought this because my work let me take home a bunch of wire after they re-wired several machines. I was a little skeptical on buying it because for the price I wouldn’t imagine it would work that well, but after some trial and error and re adjusting the blade several times, it works great, you’ll just have to play with the adjustments some. Would recommend if you have a lot of wire to strip! P.S. you can use this model with a drill as well, just take the bolt that is supposed to be used to put the handle on and use a socket adapter with the correct size socket. You will want to run the drill at a lower speed so that the wire will stay under the blade, if you go to fast it will go off track.

HAS POTENTIAL

If you set up the guide a little different and make slight adjustments it actually works really well, it has the potential to be a great investment if you’re willing to play with it a little. It definitely beats doing it with a utility knife.

Looks good but

I had this similar item from other companies that have all the parts that came with the equipment but this equipment didn't come with it. How do u change the adjustments without certain tools? Like an Allen key to add the handle to it and adjust the height of the input bracket.

Got what I paid for.

This took less than 30 minutes to figure it out. Well worth the price. Shipping could b better, but it’s coming from China so it is what it is.

Beats the hell out of using a razor knife!!

Read the negative reviews. It’s not a perfect science. I adapted some drill guides to fit off sized wire. Took me 1/10 th the time to strip the wire and my elbow thanks me for it!! You have to use your head when using. Think what can make this easier. Do you have replacement guides or different ones other than the ones you provided?? Great product!!

Good enough for the price

This product works good for the average home owner and is great considering the price and the time it would take to make something that would work similarly. As far as most of the testing that I have done has been mostly 12-14ga copper and some aluminum wire (roughly 500' in all so far). It does good as far as slitting down the center of the wire (with adjustments to the feeder guide height) but as far as the auto feeding; the teeth on the feed roll seem to have a hard time biting on the smaller diameter wires. My resolution to this was feed the wire in and keep tension on the outfeed of the wire while having a motor spinning the drive teeth (this helps reduce the amount of tension you have to put on the wire as well as keeps fresh insulation at the bite of the roll for the drive roll to grab on) and this has worked fairly well. Another issue I was having was the wire jumping out of the V groove in the feeder roll. All that I tried was lowering the feed guide hole about 3/4" lower than the V groove as to cause the wire to have to straighten out as it feeds, this has resolved the issue and also helped the teeth bite on the wire better.
