"just right"-like it says

at first, i thought these were too small, but after talking to a rep from gibson...i learned that they are supposed to come up to the first knuckle crease in the middle finger. also, the velcro is a great choice. we were considering the double buckle, because that was recommended to us, but the velcro is SO much easier to put on. broke in fast. like the other reviews say...gotta bore out the finger holes. i used a knife (even though it said not to) to do the majority of the carving. i was careful not to over-do it, and i continued to check for sizing. when i got close to fit, i used sand paper to finish the job. not as hard as everyone made it out to be. my daughter loves them!

These were the grips recommended by my daughter's gymnastics coach

These were the grips recommended by my daughter's gymnastics coach. My daughter likes them. Be warned the finger holes are ridiculously small, coach told us to use sand paper to make them larger, wasn't too hard but definitely a pain. Not sure why they don't make the holes just a little larger for each size.

Great for small hands!

Perfect for my 9 year old gymnast. My daughter is on the smaller side for a 9 year old. These smaller grips work perfect for her.

Great for competitive gymnasts

great for gymnastics that have smaller hands, or prefer to have more contact with the bar. We've brought several pairs of these now.

Standard for competitive gymnasts

My daughter is a competitive gymnast and she loves these grips. They're the standard brand that is used in her gym. Note that the finger holes need to be sized. They have to be perfect fit so they come small. My daughter used the gyms' sizing dowel.

Terrible fit finger holes are TINY

TINY finger holes! If I could right ''tiny'' in subscript I would. I followed the size guidelines and I have no idea how anyone could get their fingers in those tiny holes. I got Medium. The finger holes are so stiff and small and pretty much not going to stretch for your fingers.

These grips broke in easily and were ready to go for the meet

My daughter's previous grips (1.5 years old) ripped through, one day before a competition. These grips broke in easily and were ready to go for the meet. Her previous grips were the Gibson Just Right double buckles, so she was used to the feel. We were able to get these over night, and give her one chance to train with them. I will definitely ensure that she always has a partially broken in pair of grips ready to go in the event that she needs them.
