Power outage flashlight

It's a bit finicky: the unmarked on/off button has to be clicked on before plugging it in for it to come on during a power outage (just being plugged in isn't enough). Once you turn on the flashlight and plug it into a socket, the flashlight should go off (if the power is on). The flashlight itself is not a focused beam, but rather more of a wide-angle light, and not too bright.

Lasted several hours after power outage

We bought the GE emergency/night lights in a 4-pack over a year ago and use them as night lights (warm glow) and had forgotten about their emergency use feature. Until last week when there was a power outage did we realize that one of them did not turn on. The other 3 that did turn on lasted several hours. Our power outage happened in the afternoon, and those lights stayed on until the next day. I contacted Jasco customer service and they promptly sent a replacement for the faulty one, which I really appreciate. I highly recommend these emergency night lights.

The light works great, but it looks like there a part of the male anatomy plugged into the outlet in the hall. Look at the picture and judge for yourself.

I'm In Love with this Night Light

Haven't used this during a power outage yet (hence, the 4 stars), but it sure makes a fine night light. It comes on as the room darkens (nightfall, cloudy skies, etc.) and is bright enough to find one's way in the dark, but not bright enough to interrupt sleep if plugged in a bedroom. Also...random thought...but does the shape remind anyone else of Eve from the movie Wall-E?! ????

Not as ascetically pleasing and don't like delay in switching mode

I bought the following night light/emergency light combination lights for using around my home. I wanted a light that would act as a night light at home, and switch to emergency light when the power fails without appearing to change. These three items seem to come the closest to doing that, and I wanted to test them out to see which I liked the best. I am most impressed with the "GE 4-in-1 Power Failure LED Night Light, 2 Pack, Dusk-to-Dawn Sensor, 40 Lumens, Foldable Plug, for Emergency Flashlight, Tabletop, Storm, Hurricane, Tornado, Blizzard, White, 49578." I can barely tell when it is switching from night light to emergency light mode, because there is only a quick blink when I throw the wall switch. It is on a GCFI circuit. When the circuit popped, I did not notice until my tablet battery when totally dead, and I wondered why. The tablet and the light continued to shine for the next 5 days - 24 hours a day. It does not sense day/night when in backup mode. It is advertised to shine for up to 250 hours during a power failure. What the light lacks in aesthetics it makes up for in function, and function is more important to me. It could be a little brighter, but I don't really expect much brightness from a night light in my bedroom or hall way. - 5 star The "GE 3-in-1 LED Power Failure Night Light, 4 Pack, Dusk to Dawn Sensor, Fold-in Plug, UL-Listed, Emergency Flashlight, Hurricane, Storm, Tornado, White | Rechargeable, 45033" would be my third choice. It has the same quirks as the Energizer, and is not as ascetically pleasing as the energizer. Today I tested the light to see how long it will shine in the event of a power failure. To do this I used a light sensor plug-in switch, a battery-operated and an electric clock, the night/emergency/flash light, and a green bulb to indicate when the electricity was flowing. I set the two clocks to 12 o'clock. Then I plugged the plug-in photo sensor switch into an outlet. I plugged the electric clock into the photosensor. I unplugged the night light/emergency light and pointed the light directly into the light sensor. After just about 3 hours and ten minutes, the emergency light ran out of juice and turned off. The light sensor allowed the electric clock and green light bulb to turn on. I left the green incandescent bulb on my burner plate to make sure it didn't get too hot for the counter during the experiment. Now I have another reason the not like this night/emergency light least. It is not as attractive as a night light, the change over between modes is obvious, and the light will only shine for about 3 hours, just like the Duracell night/emergency light. Nice to have around when the power goes out.

We are in a neighborhood without street lights. When the power goes out and it's night time, you can't see your hand in front of your face in the house. Having these already plugged in all the time is great because in the event of a power outage, they act as night lights all around the house. We can move about without walking into walls and bumping into other things. Then you can take them out of the outlet and use as a flashlight. Not sure how long they last, haven't had the power off longer than the light was needed...thank goodness.

LED color is warm, 2700K'ish. Cheap feeling, expensive

The color of light is not pure white like the advertising. It looks very much like your old school incandescent colored night light. It is pleasing to see at night, to be sure. The unit is smaller than you think and it feels cheap. Worth $10 at best.

Great for hallway/bathroom light.

Bought these when we moved into our apartment. We were going to put one in the hallway but there was no outlet so there is one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. Makes moving around in the middle of the night much easier when I get a call out so as to not wake everyone up. Paired these with a couple of regular nightlights and we are ready for the next power outage as well. Would recommend for essential spaces.

Works well

Bought 2 of these for office washrooms that don't have exterior, ambient nor installed emergency lighting if the power goes out while someone is occupying them. Nice ceiling-cast light in the evenit of a pwer outage so folks can see what they're doing and finish up, and won't bang into walls on their way out. Also double as flashlights (with plug pushed into casing fits nicely in one's hand) in case anyone's working late and the power goes out anywhere else there isn't an automatic power-outage emergency light.

Great when the power gore out.

Timing was good - had a power failure within a few days of receiving the light. Lit up the whole bathroom which doesn't have natural light. The night light feature is very good as it provides just enough light that's not overwhelming. Definitely recommend this.
