Very satisfied with the results. I have 2 Dogo Argentinos, 1 male 1 female, large, powerful, rough energetic dogs. They play very hard with each other. Rolling around in a rocky desert environment that has destroyed several collar attachments. So far Garmin has made a winner in my mind with durability and functionality of a training collar. On recalling the female all I need is vibrate mode. The male is strong willed but responds very well most of the time and use only light stimulation occasionally. It depends on what the distraction is. I use the tone for praise along with petting and verbal praise. It seems to reinforce everything you are doing. I had a less expensive training collar that lost its charge too soon and took forever to recharge. The Garmin's charge lasts forever it seems. Even when you use the lights! Charging them is very quick! Never more than 2 hrs. Transmitter fits in hand nicely and takes a little getting used to finding the right button or switch you want. The only problem I have with it is the stimulation level in low light is hard to see. I have used the click method to choose the correct setting. Counter clockwise to V for vibrate then count the clicks clockwise to select stim level. It would be nice to be able to have a preset for each dog. Going from one dog to the other and changing levels can get tricky when both dogs are on the run. I don't use them for hunting although we have plenty of wildlife around that they do like to chase. The collar was different and I did order a second one that looks the same as advertised. Neither one seems to matter much on how well it stays on. If you put them on correctly (not Loose) they work great. All in all I am very satisfied with this product. One last thing, many people think these collars hurt your dog and are cruel. I love my dogs and want them to run, play and experience a dogs life as free as I can make it for them. It's very important to use this product correctly as instructed.

Great product with the absolute WORST collar imaginable

I'm talking about the actual collar, not the device. You would think that paying this amount for a unit would at least get you a decent collar, like the ones before Garmin bought this company. If you buy a blue collar, it's fine, but the black one that comes with the package is TRASH. Take a close look at it in the picture. Whoever saw a buckle like that? The device itself is great.

Works perfectly

I replaced my old Tritronics Flyway system after I could no longer get batteries for the collars. Now that Garmin owns the company it is no surprise that the two systems are similar. Both are great units. The battery life is better on the newer system and the range seems better as well. I also like the new charging system better than the old. Very happy with this system.

Well Constructed. Works great

I've set my mind from the beginning not to use the shock feature unless I absolutely had to. First I give a sound (beep feature) then I go to vibrate. I've found that these features alone can go a long way to training our two pitbull/husky mix dogs. The only thing I wish would be different is the "V" for vibrate is set by turning the intensity dial to zero. The dial reads v1234... So if you have to turn the device up to give a shock you MUST remember to turn in back down. I would rather see the vibrate have its own button like the beeper. I like the bark limiter also but that is something I don't really need right now. I had to put the longer probes on for the dog with the shorter hair, that didn't make sense but that is what worked. All in all very happy so far, after 4 or 5 weeks.

Controller is too big but quality of product is excellent

I bought this because the trainer recommended it for durability. It works great. I was hesitant because of the size of the controller and it IS an issue for me. It doesn't fit easily in my pocket so I keep putting it down and forgetting where I put it. I would also like something waterproof instead of water resistant. I certainly can't knock it for its performance and durability though! I ordered fanny packs for carrying the controller because womens clothing is not known for pockets!!

Great Professional collar

Love this for Schutzhund. Please be educated in proper usage. This is a professional collar and can deliver enough stim to break a dog's spirit if NOT used correctly. I love the added protection when he is off lead. I find the controller difficult to maneuver without looking. I hope I get better with it I hit the toggles without knowing

Good product, awesome customer service

This is my second Tri-tronics product. I bought the pro 550 to replace a unit that is over 12 years old and has performed well over its life. I was not originally happy with the roller collar that I received in the box, but upon request I was sent a new square buckle collar at no cost from Garmin. I am not sure why they even sell the unit with the roller collar, but they replaced it within a week! The customer service is top tier and the product is well built. The hand held unit is robust and easy to use. The design works well for clipping onto my hunting backpack. The buttons are spaced out enough that you can easily find them without having to look or push the wrong button. Great product from a great company.

Pay for Qaulity

Definitely expensive but this collar and remote work well. I live on an acreage and needed something that could cover a decent distance. Very pricey but feels like it will last a long time. Customer service is also great.

I actually like my dog now!

We have always had trouble with our Siberian Husky German Shepard cross when it came to recall. Her prey drive was just too high. After moving temporarily to a place with no fence it became imperative that she listen better. Since doing training with the collar we were able to get her to break her focus chasing small and large animals. Only needed to shock a couple times and now she usually listens to our voice or the tone signal and comes right back. She is a completely different dog! We feel more comfortable letting her roam on walks now and hang out in the backyard without being tied up! I never thought I would use one, but it sure has changed our pup for the better!

Super produit

Produit de grande qualité. J’ai deux labradors noirs qui sont des sœurs de la même portée et une des deux fugues très souvent pour manger tout ce qu’elle sent au loin. Je n’ai eu qu’à utiliser le beep et la vibration et maintenant elle écoute très bien et ne fugue plus! Le collier est très bien conçu et que dire de manette !
