Great item, worked as expected!

This Brick molding router bit with 1/2” shank (i.e. not for use in most hand held routers as the 3”+ inch bit would be too big and they exceed the safe operating speed of this bit which is 11-12,000 rpm) The bit is great for making your own brick moldings for new or replacing determinate moldings on your home; the bit made beautiful flat and sharp edged molding in redwood I used to replace add, and change door and widow openings ; I made them out of 2”x4” & 2”x6” redwood lumber bought at bib box stores, routed it, then cut it to my desired/needed thickness on my table saw… It would have cost me a fortune to buy all the redwood brick mold I need (as was originally installed on my 1930 home) judging from the performance of the old molding I am replacing (due to size changes) my newly made brick mold should last 70+ years ;0)

Perfect for my unusual application

I needed a very shallow s-curve about 3/8 of an inch wide by about 1/8 inch deep to profile the edge of my kitchen cabinet door frames where they meet a reversed raised panel. This is the only bit which I could find that has an s-curve with that shallow depth of profile. I use only the outside 3/8" of the bit which is quite unusual as this is one of largest diameter bit you can buy for a router. I was happy to get this bit as I had to have a solution for the cabinet doors I am building. The bit has four cutting edges, two full cutting edges and two partial cutting edges. I am getting fabulous results on red birch which in my opinion does not tool as easily as cherry and poplar.

Smooooth cutting.

This makes perfect copies of Brick mold. I have already saved the price of the bit by making mold for a masonry job from a few 2 by 4s. Best part is a was able to customize the molding as far as width and thickness. The four cutter blades made producing a perfect product essy.

Happy Camper with Freud`s brick Molding Bit

This brick mold bit worked absolutely perfect. I had to make a round top door , jamb, door stop and brick mold and the whole job just worked beautifly.
