Awesome product - Upped my cooking game

Not gonna lie folks. As a dad who grills, my smoked meat game was lacking. I would never be able to get my core temp up to the level it should be, and those little hand held ones would never do the job. I've had 3 perfect pork shoulders and an amazing brisket because I now know when the temp is perfect across the board.

this is a fake knock off of what i got from target. i got one use out of it and now it wont read the probe due to very poor build quality.

Doesn’t work

I never leave reviews but this didn’t work at all. I agree with other reviews that it was likely because of the wire. Disappointing.

Easy to use and accurate device cooks meat perfectly

This is an easy to use and effective little device. It comes with two AA batteries already installed, but you actually have to take them out and remove the plastic wrapping around them and then re-insert them before the device will power "on." The on/off switch is located on the back of the device. There's also a built-in kick-stand, which is cool. But I preferred to use the built-in magnets on the back to stick this to my toaster oven while I was working. The magnets are strong and hold the monitor securely at an easy-to-read level, and they help keep it from sliding onto the floor or getting in your way. Other than installing the batteries and plugging in the probe, there's very little set-up for this device. I was able to plug mine in and get to work right away. You select the type of meat you are cooking by scrolling through the options (there's also a programmable option if your meat isn't listed) and then selecting the level of "done-ness" that you want. Some meat types like chicken only have one option. I cooked some chicken in a pan on my stove, and I used the "alert" function on the device to chime/alert me when the chicken had reached the correct internal temperature. The metal probe is very sharp and very long, so it would penetrate even a large turkey or a huge leg of lamb. It reads the temperature quickly, and it's fun to watch the numbers tick up or down on the screen. Speaking of that, one side of the screen shows you your target temperature (for when the meat is "done") and the other side shows you your current temperature. I found the probe adjusted immediately when I removed it from the meat or moved it to a different portion of the meat. When my chicken was done, the timer beeped continuously until I took the probe out. The end result was very juicy chicken that I didn't have to cut open repeatedly to check on/test for doneness. It was absolutely perfect, and I am impressed.
