Works okay with one major flaw

Overall, I like this product and it has served me well as a basis for my hydroponics system. I especially like the size and the removable mesh pots that make maintenance easy. That said, it does have some flaws that buyers should be aware of. Most importantly, it does appear that the "sealed" hydroponics version of this product is essentially the same as the regular product with the drain holes plugged with some silicone. This seal will hold for a while but mine did eventually break and need to be resealed - a process that required draining and drying the system and buying and applying new silicone. Needless to say, this was not a fun process and is one I recommend new buyers perform immediately instead of after a leak occurs. Additionally, the lid does fit rather loosely and some climbing plants like mint will work their way out through the cracks. In the end, despite its flaws, I haven't seen a product of this size and flexibility that would work better for my application.

top in question

instructions said the top snaps on to the main unit. no it does not or mine is defective. tried calling the company but no response from them, bad customer service.

Hopeful for success next time

The concept is wonderful. I’m sure operator error contributed to some of my failure. Some plants did well but all developed mold on top and I believe the amount of moisture that escaped into the air contributed to mold on other potted plants in my house. I’ll try again outside when weather improves I used a grow light and placed by glass slider

Great for hydroponics

This is working out great for my larger aero garden plants. But, I did not like the coco noir supplied with it. After hydrating it leaves a dirty stain on roots. I bought some already hydrated, dry and loose, strand like coco filler and it worked great. You do have to keep top of plant a bit above water level so top of root gets air. I got the hang of it quickly

Would be a good product at about $45 instead of the $107 I paid

This seems like a pretty decent product and it comes with everything you need. Much unlike the other product I got from the company. The only problem I have with this is the price and the loose lid. I've not used this yet, but I can tell by construction of the "lid" that roots will be growing out through cracks and you know what that means. The price is ridiculous. I would value the thing at $45. I paid $107 and that is ridiculous. You get a $5 box of plastic and 5 baskets. The coir adds something to it..but it's still way overpriced. I'm going to keep it and try it for indoor tomatoes, but I'm afraid its not going to be strong enough. If not, I guess I'll use it for small vegetables. While I generally like the product, I would NOT buy again at this price.

Disappointed.

Was super excited to receive this so we could start our little garden. Easy to assemble, was missing the casters but I wasn't going to use them anyway. Assembled, got the dirt all ready to go, filled the tub with water in preparation for planting, came out an hour later and the tub had drained. On the original I sent an email to the manufacturer asking if the wheels were just left out, or I had gotten a used set. Didn't get a reply... Found a small hairline crack near the middle of the bottom, on 2 different units... Ended up returning both. Sad because I wanted this to work. :-/ I recommend you inspect the item before assembling.

I bought this item as a Christmas gift for my ...

I bought this item as a Christmas gift for my Brother in law who has everything. He loves to start his garden in the winter by growing seeds in his house starting in February. We also bought the lamp as well. He has told me many times how it does not take up much space in his dining room. I think he will be investing in more on his own.

Charged full price for a repaired item.

I got it all set up with minimal effort. Not sure the ph testers are still good, or that I understood how much nutrients (fertilizer) to put in. I would suggest using two bricks of the growing medium. Also, The top does not "snap" on like the directions day, so I used small clamps. Also, after it was set up I noticed that someone repaired a defect (a hole) with epoxy. It will too much of a hassel to send this back for a new one. I think it's pretty crappy that I got charged full price for a repaired item.
