What a Great Idea
...and one that really works. Used a pair on the sliding doors of the Dodge Grand Caravan: worked perfectly; stood up to wind and rain for 4 weeks of camping in the Fall, kept out all the bugs coast to coast, and let in the breeze as determined by the amount the window was opened. Used them in combination with another screen product on the front windows when it wasn't raining for maximum ventilation on the warm nights.

Does what I wanted
I bought these to allow ventilation while in my Chevy Tahoe camping. I primarily wanted something to keep out flies and mosquitoes. For that it has worked well. Since this advertised keeping out rain, I figured I'd give it a shot although I was doubtful. So far it has kept out most of the rain, much more than just an open window. It seems to be coming from one of the seams, so I will see what waterproofing will do. These are basically Wal-Mart tent material, so performs as such. Totally kills any stealth parking as the use is obvious, but allows for more ventilation than a stealth setup. A quick fix, but how long they last will determine if it was a good price. When they do give out, I will probably build something myself that is not so obvious from the outside for the casual observer.

Love these for car camping
This is our second set, because we wanted to let even more air through the vehicle. We have camped in our Expedition many times with the original set, and never had a problem with bugs, weather, etc. Bears might be a different story, so we kept the windows cracked, but not all the way down in bear country. If you are looking for a way to let air through without letting bugs and rain in, this is the solution.

Great concept, but design needs improvement and better durability
I tried these car shades for a 4 day car camping trip. Here's what worked well - keeping bugs out and providing ventilation - Excellent! Ease of putting on was good too, although I modified the straps into a longer one as I didn't want to attach the adhesive Velcro patches to my vehicle. The shades worked well too, and helped to keep rain out. What didn't work well - Although I had the shades installed correctly, during a rainstorm water somehow saturated the fabric around the window edge and dripped into the vehicle. It wasn't a lot, but caused a damp spot on my mattress. The concept of these is GREAT, but one design flaw is that the storm flap is located on the OUTSIDE of the fabric screen. So this meant that in order to close the storm flap (during a rain storm), we had to zip the screen open, zip up the storm flap, and then zip the screen closed again. It would make much more sense to have the storm flap on the inside of fabric screen. And finally, there is a drawstring that you tighten on the inside of the door to make it fit well to your vehicle. On one of the units, one side of the drawstring came loose (lost its anchor point) within the casing, rendering it useless to tighten. This was on the last day of my trip, but I was disappointed that it only lasted 3 nights. I returned these with no problem, and will try to find a product that has better design.

Works great!
We use these when camping in our SUV with an SUV tent and have these on our windows for ventilation. The screens are nice and dark for privacy while sleeping in warmer weather, and during a heavy overnight rain, we zipped up the outer layer and left it cracked towards the top. No rain came in, and the small canopy held up great in the heavy wind and pouring rain. Rather than adhering it to the inside of our door with the Velcro that comes with it, I wrapped it around the door frame and used magnets to keep it snug and it works great. No bugs get in! Really glad we got these.

Ingenious window screens for camping in a vehicle.
We have used these on two camping trips so far, and they do the trick. Our car is a Honda Element, so we have to do some tucking and use some magnets to get a decent seal around the mirrors. If they can be used on traditional back windows, I think they would fit well. Instructions say to clean surfaces on which the velcro strips will be applied. Do it! Otherwise adhesion is weakened when car is in the sun, can let mosquitoes in.

Fantastic- needs a little modification by the manufacturer...please respond!
First off I LOVE these Road Trippers! I do recommend them for travelers and vehicle dwellers/ Vanlife people. After using these nearly daily for the past 3 months of summer travel, mine have begun to leak. The fabric is getting pin holes, perhaps from being rolled and stored in the bag? If the company could reply to me - I think that a $40 item should last longer, and i would like a replacement. Also the placement of the adjustable elastic and toggle at the top center of the door frame allows dripping when in heavy rains. I'd like to see these made with improved fabric and a a change in the placement of the elastic adjustments. The Velcro on the door frames is a great idea and I really appreciate learning that trick. I actually now use hidden Velcro on my door frames for other window coverings. How about changing the elastic adjustments to a side and giving us Velcro dots or something to attach the top of the Road Tripper to the door frame.

Fit nice until about 85mph.
I unboxed them (sold as a pair) and put them on Honda Element front door windows. I will opt for magnets to hold in place not the included velcro. They are a great price and design. 4 not 5 star only because I havent had enough time to see how they hold up. They are thin- tent material and thin screen but seem well built and designed so expect it will be fine.
