good, but takes some adjusting
The idea of a swivel seat is great for someone with lower back problems or piriformis symptoms (tend to throw your back when you just turn wrong and never figure out why? might be this). The problem, however, is that each car seat is different and so you must work with the swivel seat product to make it right for your situation. Here's what we did: first the car's bucket seat prevented the swivel seat from nesting securely within it. No matter how much I adjusted it, the edges of the swivel seat rested on the edges of the car's seat and the center was lifted, creating movement and a bad fit (imagine the car seat as a wide U and the swivel seat resting on the uprights of the U, but not the bottom curve). Solution: a small folded towel placed in the center of the bucket seat leveled it out (filled in the U) and the swivel seat now nests flatly. Second problem: even though it sits flat, it still slides around. Solution: I placed a strip of 3M safety walk, indoor/outdoor tread tape across the bottom of the swivel seat. It now sits securely in place and my mom can get in and out of the car better. I can't yet comment on the durability of the swivel seat because it is new. If it breaks or malfunctions, I'll update this. Update 11/2013: it's still working great. Note: I also purchased The Stander's Handybar (see my review on that product page). Once mom turns to the side, she simply drops the handybar into the door frame slot (where the car door connects with the frame) and boosts herself up and out. Update 09/2016: still working great!

Great product, helps old people!
I bought 2 of these, one for my grandmother (she has a bad back, she's crazy short, and it's hard for her to get in and out of her car), and one for my father (he has a bad back, so kind of the same deal). My grandmother LOVES her Swivel Seat. Not only is it easier for her to get in her car, but it also gives her a much needed height boost behind the wheel. She was using a pillow so she could see over the steering wheel, but this is tall enough that she doesn't need the pillow anymore. My father likes it, but his amnesia prevents him from remembering it's there, so he occasionally forgets and is surprised by the swivel action under his rear. When he remembers it's there, though, he likes it. We use it in the house so he can get up and down from the dining table easier, and he takes it with him on his trips in the car. My only issue with it is that it doesn't grip the seat it's sitting on as well as it could. If there's any shape to your car seat, I recommend putting a towel under it so it can fully grip the seat. It works great and stays put on completely flat surfaces (like a dining chair), but it took a bit of tweaking to get it to stay put in my grandma's car seat. Overall, I'm glad I bought this product. It helps people with bad backs get in and out of areas that we young, healthy people take for granted. 8/10, would buy again.

To big for my "bucket" car seat
I wanted this to work so badly. It was too big for my car seat. Also, I needed to turn it upside down for it to spin before I even realized then it was still to big for my bucket car seat. I have a smaller, lower to the ground car and needed to for BEFORE I had hip replacement surgery on the left side. It wouldn't even spin around unless I turned it upside down. The cushion is nice and thick but when you sit down on it and onto the thin plastic "lazy suzan" style turn table - it won't turn. Too much pressure and weight. Even if you only weigh 100 pounds. And this is supposedly good for up to 300 or 350? It might work for a flat surface - but I don't know how it could work for an angled or cushioned car seat.

Good little product.
This product would have worked better if my car seats were level. Because of the configuration of my car seats, the plastic bottom wouldn't allow it to swivel as it should have and the plastic cracked and finally broke all the way.

A great idea but a messy waste of money
Love the concept of this! I bought this to get in and out of the car after hip replacement surgery. It worked good BUT I would have to pull it out from under me after getting in the car cuz it was uncomfortable to sit on for a ride/drive! I also had a problem with the bottom of it. There is a non slip rubber bottom on it. Well, it was summer and when I went out to the car the glue that held the non slip pad had melted, the pad slid. I had sticky glue all over my car seat, my shorts, the spinner seat and my hands. I tried to clean it up and was just a mess. Haven’t used it since!!! I just put a plastic garbage bag on the seat and it’s easy to swivel with that.

Better for bench seats
We like the idea however it doesn’t work as well when placed on the front seat of a Captain type chair. The side “bolsters”on the side of the seat interfere with the free movement of the swivel. In our case, we are trying to transfer my wheelchair bound wife, who cannot provide much assistance, into the car. It is better than not having any swivel device but it would be difficult to design a swivel that would work well for her

Convient à mes attentes.
Depuis l'âge de 16 ans (j'en ai 69) que j'ai une voiture et à toute les fois que je sors de la voiture c'est toujours le pied gauche suivi du pied droit mais pas avant de faire une torsion du genoux gauche pour sortir le pied droit. Au fil des années l'articulation du genoux gauche a souffert de ce mouvement répété. Maintenant ce coussin en pivotant me falicite la tâche énormément. La douleur s'estompe. Je recommande.

Excellent product for seniors
I installed it in the back seat behind driver for my super senior father along with a hand grip fitted below the driver seat headrest. He has liked this arrangement very much. Getting in and out of car has become easier and he is very happy every time he has to ride in the car.

EXCELENTE
este producto lo utilizó en mi carro ya que mi abuelita no puede salir y entrar tan fácilmente en el carro por su edad, ya que, constantemente se quejaba de dolor de rodilla al bajar del coche. Este producto mejoró muchísimo su dolor y su transportación dentro del coche, super recomendado para personas de la tercera edad o con dolores de rodilla.

Épaisseur du rembourrage
Très utile pour s’asseoir ou se relever d’une chaise plus facilement mais épaisseur du rembourrage pas assez dense car aplati dès la 1ère heure d’utilisation et n’a jamais repris sa forme initiale.
