Solid Railing

Bought for my husband in nursing home. Easy to put together. Well made. This actually works. My husband is very grateful for this new helper.

Great for any age!

This is the second one I have purchased. The first was for my house and then I got one for my 90 year old mothers house. Gives the individual using it a sense of security as well as the ability to help themselves up out of bed. No one wants to lose their independence and ability to move around freely. This rail works great. Highly recommend.

Sturdy

While the directions could have been more clear, we did get it installed and it has been very helpful to my grandmother. We are able to raise the head of bed and it is still very sturdy. Does not move out of place taking at least 230 lbs

TERRIBLE COMPANY, AWEFULL PRODUCT

Drive Medical 1222P Adjustable Height Home Bed Assist Handle is cheap and very dangerous for the elderly. In many states of USA, this and products like it are not certified by the state for elderly use at nursing homes. Many elderlies have fallen or got their arms stuck and broke in this type of railings. After receiving this item and not being allowed to install it at a nursing home, I tried to return it , the message said NON-RTURNABLE. That was a shock from a seller on amazon. Contacted the seller directly, explained the issue, and still they wouldn't take it back. After few more back and forth, they agreed to have it returned. But the system would not issue a Return label. After few more contacts, the seller accused me of writing a bad review, which I hadn't done. Then they were convinced that the review wasn't mine, and said ok, ship it and we'll refund it. I did not trust their message as their responses so far were absolutely unprofessional. So, I contacted Amazon, which gave them 48 hours to resolve the issue. The seller sent a message that they will send a return label in a couple of days, which they never did. Contacted Amazon again, Amazon refunded the entire cost back to my account. Now, I'm left with a crappy and dangerous product that I don't even want to donate, b/c someone will get hurt by using it. It'll be trashed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FLY BY NIGHT SELLER AND THEIR DANGEROUS PRODUCT.

what we needed

My husband came home from short term rehab and I had to have something that he could grab onto to help him move in bed, and to help get out of bed. He has parkinson's and now needs time to regulate his bp by going slow from supine, sit, and stand to get into wheelchair. It does work with a bed frame that lifts!!!!!!!!! Mixed reviews for this issue on amazon, and people who first delivered the moving base on the bed said it would not. It does, if you consult with the people that sell you the movable base to see where to put the straps. Been working well for 6 weeks, no problems.

Easy to Install

This bed rail is easy to install and very sturdy. It does need soem minor assembly but it comes with all the tools necesary to do so. I had it out of the box and installed onto the bed in less than 15 minutes. It took longer to push the mattress back into the bed than it did to assemble and install the rail.

Perfect! Problem Solved!

These rails are well made and very sturdy. They were super easy to install, and will keep you safely in bed instead of on the floor! We liked it so much we bought another for down towards the foot area. Very pleased w/purchase.

Everything we hoped for

Bought this for my 98 year old mother who moved in with us recently. She needed something to ensure she wasn't going to roll out of bed and then something she can grab onto to help get out of bed. This does both beautifully. We like the security of having a strap go all around the mattress. Also really like how sturdy it feels with it's size, shape and rubberized coating that helps her grip.

Not high enough.

It was ok. It really isn't high enough. Our mattress is thick(18in) and it is only about 10 inches above it.
