good for aluminum track windows

worked fine on my windows. I have aluminum tracks. It requires that you drill a hole into the track. Each lock comes with it's own key so if you are ordering multiples be aware that you'll need to keep one of every key. Way more secure than the screw type locks.

Did not fit my window

We have the newer vinyl windows, and could not use this window lock with our windows. The metal pieces on the side are too wide to fit in the small area where the pinhole secures the lock. This also requires drilling in the window frame itself, and are limited with set positions for the window height. The lock itself comes with two keys, but if purchasing more than one lock, I am unsure if you can get them all keyed so that you only need the same key.

Great window lock

Perfect lock to secure one of the windows in my child's room on the second floor. You can place the lock wherever you want on the track so the window can still open to a particular point.

Works but only on thin window tracks.

This only work on thin window tracks. If your window uses thicker tracks, it woukd not fit the locking mechanism at all.

Great concept, but the fitting is far too narrow ...

Great concept, but the fitting is far too narrow to work on my windows. If it were wider, it would accommodate more types of windows. I had to return it for a refund which was very easy thanks to Amazon.com

Exactly what I was looking for. Replaces old ones that I had installed years ago but couldn't find them in hardware stores anymore. Securely locks aluminum horizontal sliding windows in place with a key lock.
