Good longer length rain jacket

I appreciate the longer length of this rain jacket. It covers my butt. I am 5'6" and 120 pounds with a small frame. I am happy I sized up to a medium. The jacket is very lightweight so I wanted room to wear a sweatshirt underneath. I think a small would have fit nicely but it would have been tight with a sweatshirt. I agree with other reviewers that the hood is a bit small. However, you can cinch the hood up. The design is a little different than most Columbia jackets so it took me a sec to realize I could cinch it. Just pull the cord and push the rubber piece up. The hood really isn't very functional unless you cinch it which is a bummer. If the hood were bigger I would have given the jacket 5 stars. I got this jacket on sale for about $50 which I think is worth it. I definitely wouldn't pay $100 for it. UPDATE I ended up returning the jacket because it is only water resistant according to Columbia's website. I'm not lowering my rating because it's still a good jacket but it is not actually waterproof.

Truly waterproof

I sized up so I could layer underneath if necessary. It was comfortable without being bulky. This is a very lightweight jacket which may be good for spring and summer showers but I needed my layers to keep warm in approx 40-45 degree weather. (But I am from a warm climate and fairly wimpy in anything below 70!). On my last trip the sprinkles, rain, and even a bit of sleet one morning did not deter me from being outdoors in my new jacket. I was dry, warm, and comfortable. The hood kept rain off my face and glasses. It was easy to pack and the light gray coordinated with all my outfits. I like the longer length. In spite of being short, the Velcro on the sleeves helped me adjust the length. I loved being hands-free and not having to deal with an umbrella.

Size one or two UP

I would have given this cool raincoat five stars except that it runs so small which I did learn from the reviews before ordering. I ordered a 3X and usually I wear a 1X, that way I have some room underneath for a warm layer-- this is perfect for my walks in the rain.

Love the length and inside material

This is a very nice rain jacket with thin lining inside. Not too warm but makes it so you don’t sweat in it which I find happens without a liner. Length is perfect for being out when raining with some wind.

Rainy California

It has been great for the unusual rain we have been getting. I can’t remember the last rain coat that I have needed. It cinches around the wrists and the hood. The length is below the waist. Perfect for dog walks. It is lined which makes warm but not hot or heavy. I bought a light purple so that I would be visible.

Rain jacket

This Colombia rain jacket is very nice. Fits well. Sleeves on me were a little long, but the Velcro adjust remedies that. I’m short-5’3 and bigger bust. The length is great and have room to layer if needed. Ordered a size 1x.

Perfect in every way!

This jacket turned out to be absolutely perfect. It fits exactly right. I’m pretty tall so I was worried when I saw the size charts. I double checked against the Columbia website and it came in perfect at an XXL. Bonus I got a return from the Amazon warehouse with “minor imperfections” so it was super cheap. You can’t even see what they were talking about. It looks pristine to me! The nice thing about this jacket is that it doesn’t just get wider at bigger sizes. They do an excellent job of keeping the look flattering no matter what your size.

Love!

This is my second time buying this (I purchased this in a medium in dark nocternal and a large in black) I am 5'3, 130-135 lbs, wear a 34B bra, and am pear shaped. The medium fits great, with enough room for a hoodie undernieth, and it covers my bum. I love how its not super long though (being short thats a problem i run into a lot) The large i bought so that i could layer with even thicker sweaters. The arm length is just right (usually arms are way too long on me) The only thing thats a bummer is at first the rain beads off and it seems great, then after around 2 months of heavy use it starts to leak through on the arms** I had the arcadia ii for two years before it leaked and i wore that sucker constantly, so this one isnt as waterproof buuut i like the style better. If youre looking for something super waterproof, this isnt the jacket for you. **to be fair, i do live on the wet coast**

One thing missing

I do like this coat. It repels water, nice lining and good coverage. Because it is longer and I wear it on damp dog walk days, I really miss the double zipper that my other Columbia coats have. It is hard to squat or bend down easily without stress on the bottom.. It should have a 2 way zip.

No surprise, exactly as advertised

Well made jacket, ordered a 2X and it fits exactly as I expected it should. I'm not tall so it covers my butt nicely, and there is a gather cord to draw in the bottom hem. Nice and light but has a warm flannel lining, perfect for spring walks by the river. Delivered the next day. Very pleased.
