Very comfortable and light
I was a tad concerned because it looked a bit short. But when I wore it, it was just right. Otherwise, it would have flown off of me. Great item!

Perfect length and strong grip
This is my second Chums retainer. I bought a longer one from a sporting goods store years ago. The rubber eventually broke down enough that it wouldn't grip the glasses, but that was after years of use. I like that this retainer is a little shorter. It doesn't hang as far down when I have them on my chest, and it is not in the way as much. I don't mind that the wire stands up in the back - I actually prefer it. I have another pair of sunglasses with a cord and a rubber adjustment piece at the end. It is a lot less comfortable and sometimes it requires "adjusting" when it sticks to me or the seat of the car. This retainer does exactly what I want it to do. I have it on a pair of Ray Bans and the ear pieces are large enough that this holds them securely. If you had very thin ear pieces, this might not hold very well. All in all I am pleased with this and have already ordered a second one for another pair!

New favorite purchase
No more losing my glasses, getting smudge marks on them, or breaking them. So practical. Tried the silicone kind and did not like how they grabbed at my clothes and hair, the old-style cloth ones are too much, these are hardly noticeable. I tried another brand but the cord was too short, these are nearly perfect.

I like the plain stainless better
Let me fist say this is a wonderful product. I have several and use them at home and work and when on the water. There are two reasons I only gave it 4 stars: One is because, for what it is, it's overpriced and two, the rubber chums logo and penguin rubber bit catches on your collar when you move your head up and down. Cut off the rubber neck tab and your good to go. Lastly, I have a sensitive neck and the stainless cord feels cooler and lighter for some reason and is my personal preference.

Misleading Photo
I don't know what that black doohickey in the picture is because I did not receive one with my order. I thought perhaps it was some sort of application device? Anyway, the glasses strap is just fine and dandy. You don't need an application device--it just jams right on! Perfectly suited for my reading glasses at the office.

Lightweight and durable. This is the second one I have had for my Ray Ban prescription sunglasses. My toddler grabbed ahold of my first ones while they were hanging on my neck and tore the rubber end of the first one. If not for that, I am certain they would still be going strong!

Works good
Little long and stiff in the back of head. The tails hang out and could get caught on something, either horse collaring your neck or ripping the retainer out. Could be better. Doesn't work under my welding helmet
