Great item, but too big on a skinny person
I enjoy balaclavas a lot as I use them when I ride my bike at the wee hours of the morning and the late hours of the night. All of the previous ones I have ordered have been a solid one piece mask, where the top is completely connected to the face portion, and they have all been a snug 1 size fits all. This was the first time I ordered one that had a size, so I got the the S/M size as I'm 5'10 and 135lbs, thinking it would also be snug too. It wasn't. It is very big and does not even stay on my face. The head portion obviously stays, but the face portion dangles and does not conceal heat in the nose and cheeks region. The eye openings are great however, and cover more of my face than my previous balaclavas. The material is also very nice and soft under the eyes and on the nose when I push it on. This balaclava fits if I put my old one on underneath it (shown by picture). I may try that the next time I go out as it's been colder lately. It's also not necessary to send back for a refund or an exchange as it fits my father who is the same height, but is 40 lbs heavier and I wanted him to have one too. 4/5 simply because it doesn't fit me, but someone I know will use it.

Great product for the money!
Let me start by talking about size. I wear a size 7-1/8 hat and I purchased the medium size and it fits me well. Not to tight or loose on the head. The face mask fits just a smidge to loose around the bridge of the nose, but not a deal breaker. If you have a larger nose, it will probably fit you perfectly. Now, how does it do in the cold? For the past two weeks it has been under 20 degrees, several days in the single digits and a couple days below zero with wind chills -15. This morning it was 6 degrees. It does fine in these temps as long as the wind isn't blowing. It keeps your face fairly warm in these temps, but the wind bringing in - wind temps penetrates the face mask it's still better than nothing and a lot better than many things. In these conditions it put my hood up and it helps a lot on cutting down the penetrating wind. Will glasses fog? Yes! Bottom line is that overall it is a great product and I would recommend this to a friend.

A Rough Winter Must-Have!
I bought this face mask to use while snow blowing and shoveling at my house. I live in an area where we average 100" of snow every winter, so we spend A LOT of time outside moving snow from one spot to another. This mask has made the whole process much more comfortable. The material is very soft and the face part is very breathable and doesn't feel wet after wearing it for extended periods. The fit is very good and it's great at holding headphones in your ears so you can work as hard as you need while wearing it. You virtually cannot feel wind through the mask and it's very resistant to Snow/Ice/Water. The other nice part is having a hinge that allows you to pull the face piece down so that you can talk to people or whatever you need to do without screaming. Despite not using this for traditional purposes, it's a great item, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to keep their face warm during a rough winter season.

A must have for working in the cold
If you work in the cold and wind like i do this is a must have. Its a very comfortable and form fitting perfect to wear by itself or under a hard hat/helmet. The head is made of surprisingly thin fleece but does a great job of giving me just the right amount of warmth and wind protection in temps anywhere from 30 to well below zero. It keeps me warm when im still and wicks away sweat and keeps me from overheating when im moving. Ive tried several variations of this and the mouth/nose area is where i hve issues. I can keep this over my mouth n nose all night and evn with talking and heavy breathing it doesnt build condensation from my breath like the others ive tried. Its also very comfortable over just the mouth or under the chin. If u need this for work do yourself a favor and just order 2 or 3 right now like i wish i did.

Great value and function.
This mask is great. It provides effective coverage for your entire head without being too bulky. It fits comfortably under a ski helmet. The mesh over the mouth and nose is effective at allowing you to breathe without building up a lot of moisture. If you are wearing ski goggles, you may have some problems with fogging them up. I noticed that as long as I didn't breathe heavily out of my nose while on the lift it wasn't really a problem. If you don't want the top cover, you can easily fold the hat portion back and wear it as a mask only. The local ski shop sells a lot of these for $30 - picked it up on Amazon for $5. Actually, I picked them up 5 and outfitted the whole family. Everyone loves them.

I like it, wish it would pass less air though.
(Used under a full face helmet - motorcycle )So I like this, it fits great, doesn't slide over my eyes when I put my helmet on, tucks in nicely and I can tighten my chin strap without issue. I'm only saddened in that it breathes quite a bit. I get a c onsiderable amount of flow that causes cold turbulence near my mouth. But I'm getting closer to what I want and with the weather getting warmer I think I'll stick with it this season. The fact that it doesn't slide down when I put my motorcycle helmet is my favorite. It seems a little thick on the top end but that might be necessary. But I may just like my helmets a little on the tight side.

Good quality and works OK for me.
I bought this as part of my winter jet skiing set up. I use this in conjunction with some Oakley MX goggles and a wetsuit hood. The fit is very good and the quality is good. It does help to keep my head warm. My disappointment comes when I try to cover my nose and mouth. It causes my goggles to fog up. This is probably not a problem for many that will use the Chaos CTR, but for me 50% of the reason I bought it was to try to keep my nose and mouth warm at 60mph. Overall, it does help and I'll keep using it.

Good for the price
I'm a 5'11 man that usually wears head gear in around a medium size (e.g. motorcycle helmets, bike helmets usually a medium sometimes large depending on brand). I went with the small/med the the fit was pretty much right on. Head fit well, mask bit fit fine, but the mouth breathing area was above my mouth close to my nose. As for how it works: it kept me warm in around -17C and it seemed to wick sweat well. I did have some issues with the mask keeping up after pulling it down below my chin, I had to make sure my goggles held it in place after half a day of boarding (which resulted in my putting it up for the lift and off for riding). for the money it seems good. I'll definitely be keeping it and using it until it wears out. I'll also be keeping my eyes open for something better. I needed something in a pinch and I was able to get this in 2 days without heading to a store. It did the job and it'll do, but I know there are better options out there (albeit for more money).

Great! Order a size DOWN!
I also consider myself to have a big head and after hearing many reviews about people with big heads ordering the large and finding it too large, I went for the small. It fits perfectly, nice and snug but not too tight. Love the material, there's a vertical strip in the middle of the face that's slightly thinner to allow better breathing over the nose and mouth areas. We've had a mild winter this year but I've worn it at -10 with no issues, it's thin enough to wear a tuque/hat over top when it's extra cold out. I can't speak to durability as I've only used it half a dozen times, but I love it so far. Seams appear solid and so does material. Also the fit's versatile enough to lower the face part mid-run and still be comfortable, it's very adjustable. Overall very satisfied and happy I did a bit of research beforehand! Paid off!

Almost Perfect
I would have given 5 stars, but the stitching in one of the seams about 1.5" long was done poorly and let go immediately (factor defect). I would have returned it, but it was easier to hand sew it together on my own. It only took a few minutes to fix, and once completed, it works great. The fit is good, and it does a good job of keeping the wind off my nose and forehead when snowmobiling.

Nope, can't breathe.
The nose part is too large (y axis). There is a part of fabric where you can breathe through but I don't know if I should aim it at my nose (impossible because the rest of the fabric will go to painfully block my eyes) or at my mouth (which would block my nose from breathing decently). I was also afraid to breath in micro-particles of the fabric (idk I just don't like it).

Warm and fitting
I bought the small/medium and the fit was perfect (head circumference 57 cm). No wind intrusion! I was weary the product would not be warm enough as it is quite thin, but it turned out to be great. I have been using it for winter bike commuting with no complaints. The mouth breathing part is handy not to fog goggles.
