great device!

I bought this to make peanut brittle - only issue with it was that it doesn't clip super secured to the pot, making it hard to stir with the thermometer attached.

Decent Starter

Its a decent little thermometer, it does take awhile for it to read the temperature, often it doesn't register properly and will cause you to over heat your candy mixture. Its very sturdy, which is a nice touch. I recommend this as a starter thermometer with trial and error candies or one to use as a backup. I don't recommend this for long term uses.

Candy is perfect and my meat is juicy.

Just what I needed, my wife's candy was coming out wrong every holiday season for the last couple years because she was eyeballing the operation. This has fixed the issue. I'm saving money with less scrap candy now. Also works for meat well.Y rotisserie chickens come out perfect with this, measure temp deep in the breast near the bone, chickens have always been great and juicy. I can only assume it's accurate since the candy hardens perfect and my meat is perfectly cooked.

The only candy thermometer I use.

I think I purchased four different types of candy thermometers. The very first one I bought was digital and I accidentally put it in the sink after the first time using it and ruined it. I bought another one, just like it and I couldn't get it calibrated. After 3 more different types of digital thermometers I went to the old school ones. This one is the best of all of them. I've used it a couple dozen times and it works perfectly every time.

Reliable accuracy and a much improved holder support

I like this thermometer, however I did recalibrate the dial just slightly. I especially like the design of the metal holder that clips onto the cook pot. I does resist the thermometer from tipping or leaning from side to side. I would buy it again.

es general es bueno en su función pero hubiera querido que en lugar de plástico ( carilla) fuese vidrio, y se ve un poco austero, si no quieres gastar mucho es buena opción.
