Not having any luck with carve bottoms

I haven't decided if I'm going to keep this bottom yet. I have the halalei rashguard in navy haku, and need a navy bottom to match, but I'm not finding one that works yet. I ordered a medium in the st barth style, and it's baggy in front, and puckers on the sides of the butt. So too big. I tried the cardif bottom in a small and it squeezed my cheeks. According to the size chart I should wear a small, but I have a big butt for my frame and smalls always look way too cheeky. I wish they'd make a fuller coverage bottom that isn't a swim short style... What to do? For reference I'm 5'5" 130 lbs, 26 inch waist, 37 inch hips.
