My Dream Sharpener

I was in law school the first time I saw this sharpener. It was in the library and always worked so I had to have it for myself. After I bought it I could not imagine ever going back to another. It never jammed, was about as quiet as a sharpener could be, and always gave the perfect point. THEN A SHELF FELL ON IT! I was heartbroken so I bought another one and, wouldn't you know it, it's still perfect. 10/10. Will buy again if I drop another 50 pounds of stuff on it

Very good Sharpener, If you don't mind the size

I didn't realize what size this Bostitch Office QuietSharp was when I ordered it. I just needed a good pencil and colored pencil sharpener that had 5 or 6 different sizes. It turns off automatically when it reaches its full sharpness and keeps from sharpening further. The suction cups on the bottom works nice on smooth surfaces. The size was big and it took some time to get used to it, I like it and my kids like a lot. It's been almost eight months with no issues and works like new. This definitely was worth buying.

Great home pencil sharpener

Works well, heavy duty. This is the second sharpener we have brought. The other lasted 10 years with heavy use.

Great addition to my classroom!

These do last longer than any other pencil sharpener I have purchased. I have two in my classroom (one only for colored pencils) and they are going strong. I actually purchased this one for a teacher friend ????

Amazingly quiet, we’ll worth the money

I bought after 2 classroom sharpeners bit the dust. This thing is GLORIOUSLY quiet, and does an excellent job, even on colored pencils. Worth every penny.

Lo que buscaba

Este afilador de lápices es muy bueno. Antes había tenido un par de Bostitch, uno manual y otro eléctrico sencillo. Este sacapuntas es superior a los anteriores, es rápido y en lo que cabe cumple lo que promete de ser más silencioso. Tengan en cuenta si lo quieren pedir que es más voluminoso que los comunes sacapuntas eléctricos, es como el doble de tamaño. En ventaja el depósito para viruta es muy grande y no es necesario estarlo vaciando con frecuencia. El hecho que tenga varios diámetros para lápices e incluso uno triangular lo hace muy versátil. Mis hijas tienen tanto lápices triangulares como Prismacolor estándar y lápices de dibujo de diámetro más pequeño. El color, tómenlo en cuenta, es azul intenso. Si lo buscan para un escritorio sobrio ejecutivo quizá se vea algo discordante. Tiene en la parte de abajo varias ventosas para sujeción en superficies planas o cristal. En resumen: si buscan un sacapuntas versátil, con depósito para viruta de gran capacidad, este es el producto.

A Concerning Limitation

The unit allows for a variety of pencil shapes, something a number of sharpening systems did not. It appears to be well made, it is fairly heavy so it will not go skating around on a desk surface, and it has a decent sized hopper to hold shavings. There are, however a couple of drawbacks. First is the size. It is much larger than I expected. If desk real estate is an issue for you, you may want to look at a different product. Second is a limitation. The product literature states it is not for sharpening coloured pencils. I had missed that limitation in the Amazon description. That was why I bought a sharpener in the first place, so my wife could sharpen her coloured pencils. I contacted Bostich (that was a separate ordeal) and was told the reason is that the softer leads in coloured pencils builds up in the cutter head and will eventually cause the unit to jamb. I was told that if the cutter is cleaned from time to time, then it should work alright. It was suggested that two other products would be a better choice since the cutters were replaceable. I decided to keep the unit for the following reasons; First, the suggested units were well over $100. Canadian before tax. Just too much money for me. Second, all of the products I looked at utilize an almost identical cutting head design (helical cutter). Presumably, they would clog too. Finally, when I looked at the design of the unit, going in and cleaning the cutter periodically, while a bit messy and a nuisance, would be possible.

La mejor opcion

Despues de leer muchas reseñas, me decidi por comprar este sacapuntas. COmo comentan, es mas grande que otros sacapuntas electricos, pero si ya tenemos planeado un espacio dedicado a este entonces no debe ser problema. Saca la punta de manera excelente. Tenia unos colores chafitas que con el sacapuntas normal se me quebraban a cada rato o de plano se atoraban. Este sacapuntas elimino ese problema. Le saca puntna a todo. El deposito de basura es grande asi que no se tendran que preocupar por estarlo vaciando a cada rato. Tiene un disco giratorio para meter lapices de diferentes tamaños. El unico pero que le pongo es que el tamaño minimo que debe tener el color para sacar punta son unos 8 cms. Es decir, los colores menores a este tamaño ya no se les podra sacar punta porque no hay de donde sujetarlos y si uno los mete, sacarlos es un problema.

Potente Sacapuntas (justo para escuela en casa)

Es justo lo que necesitaba con las clases en línea de mi hijo, voy enumerar algunas características: 1) No desgasta de mas los lápices al sacar punta, tiene su auto-stop. 2) Es un sacapuntas silencioso para su tamaño. 3) Es compatible con muchos grosores de lápices (hexagonal, circular, triangular estándar, triangular preescolar y los colores de dibujo los mas delgados). tiene 6 entradas diferentes 4) Tiene ventosas en la parte de abajo para que no se mueva (con buen agarre x cierto) 5) Si es un sacapuntas mas grande que los otros, casi el doble, anexo imágenes comparado con una regla de 30 cm para mayor referencia. Alto= 18 cm, ancho =12 cm y de profundo 19 cm. 6) Tiene una bonita estética y creo que por el tamaño del motor va a durar mas, siempre he tenido sacapuntas de la marca Bostitch siempre me ha salido muy buenos. 7) Se conecta directo a la corriente eléctrica. 8) El deposito para la viruta de los lápices es de gran capacidad. 9) No se calentó cuando saque punta como a 50 lápices y colores para probarlo, es de uso constante. 10) Cuando los lápices o colores miden por el desgaste entre 5 o 6 cm ya no alcanzas a tomarlos para poder sacarles punta ya que es algo profunda la entrada. 11) El producto me llego antes de lo indicado, me llego perfectamente sellado y empacado, producto 100% nuevo.

I sounds like it chopping your pencil into little pieces

I don't know about being quiet, so one star gone, but I live alone so I don't care. I sounds like it chopping your pencil into little pieces. I bought it along with a smaller one hole to sharpen my Derwent Inktense pencils and Caran D'Ache Luminance Pencils which tend to be on the fatter side. I've got it all covered which makes for a happy artist. It sharpens well, does not chop, just watch you don't leave them in too long or it will eat them aliive, there is no indicator they are done, just put them in for a second, you can always put them back in. Big holder for Shreds, easy to empty.
