Buyer beware!!

Though this router bit works great for its intended purpose, I must warn you all about one huge problem that can occur and did to me. There is a very tiny little Allen key nut on the roller bearing. I made my first pass on my subwoofer box and it worked perfectly. But as I was making my second flush cutting pass, the roller bearing slid up the shank in mid cut causing the bit to chew a quarter inch into my cutout. I was so mad because everything was going so well. This is a mistake that can't really be fixed. I mixed up some saw dust and tite bond in hopes that it will fill in the huge gap that this bit caused. I was able to tighten the bearing down but of course it stripped being that it's so tiny. It's 1.5mm or something. I highly suggest you immediately tighten this down before using. Otherwise this worked great ????

The only thing I don't like about these bits is the collet with the set ...

This Bosch router bit 1/2 x 1 was purchased to replace the 1/2 x 1 Bosch pattern bit that was part of a 3 piece pattern bit set. The orginal bit I owned failed and the carbide became chipped on the very tip. I used it quite often and I was probably trying to hog out too much material too fast. The only thing I don't like about these bits is the collet with the set screw that holds the bearing in place. I have learned over the years every time I use these bits I always check to make sure the learning is good and tight. I have had the set screw come out in the past, and with a bit spinning at 28,000 rpm good luck finding the set screw! LOL I use blue (serviceable) lock-tite on the set screws now and the problem is not a problem anymore, but I still check them from time to time.

Bosch bits are quality

Sure you can get cheaper bits, but they just won't deliver the same consistent results as Bosch router bits.

BOSCH ROUTER BITS

We've been using the Bosch router bits in our production operations for at least 7 years now. From our experience Bosch is the only manufacturer to builds bits that stay sharp past a single use.
