Very nice shoe

My story is that I am a nearly 50 year old male who has never even thought of tap dancing, however since Covid started, I have found myself trying to make myself a more well rounded, healthier person in various ways. I heard that some pro athletes were taking tap dancing lessons to further their athleticism. Hence, my rather whimsical purchase of these Bloch shoes. I bought them on the "try free" program of Amazon's, so I figured there was little to lose. The first impression was the wonderful smell of leather. I haven't had leather shoes in eons and these filled the general area of the house with that unmistakable smell. The leather is very supple and the shoes are definitively flexible at the midfoot. After much deliberation (and the Amazon return deadline looming) I decided to just put them on and hope this would not be another short-term thing where I use the shoes a couple times then never again....bottom line is I have really taken to the you tube lessons so far. The shoes have been wonderful and honestly I can't really believe such a nice pair of finely crafted specialty shoes made from obviously high quality leather can be made for under $100. So happy I made the purchase. I am still developing my fundamentals because it takes me a long time at my age to learn anything new, but I have learned that a firm grasp of the fundamentals is critical for anything. Also, if you are looking for a cheap "dance floor" I purchased a box of the engineer hardwood flooring at Costco, and it has stood up nicely to the pounding so far...I am actually thinking of converting a whole room to this flooring so I have more room to do my thing! I really can't recommend these shoes any higher based on the quality and price.

The flex is worth the money

I recommend that anybody who wants to buy a fairly cheap tap shoe pay the extra money for the flex feature over the stiff soles. This shoe gives a fairly high note when you tap. You have to buy a more expensive shoe to get a lower, base note. The expensive shoes have different soles that make that sound. It is fairly tough to do toe stand with these shoes since they have a round toe.

According to my dancing grandson . . . .

I purchased these as a Christmas gift for my grandson. He told me these shoes are the best gift he has ever received. I wish he was writing this because he could say it better . . . but he told me the sound of the taps is exactly what he needed. He said more too about how great the leather and fit are. I guess you will have to take my word that I have a delighted grandson.

A fine starter shoe for a tap dancer. Comfortable and light. The split sole is a little annoying, but I hardly notice it.

Worn with inserts!

Disgusting! These arrived with worn inserts already in them and clearly worn. someone is not checking inventory!!

Buy 0.5 size larger

You must buy 0.5 size larger one. I always use 9.0 for running shoes or other casual ones. But this one I has to return 9.0 one first. It was way too tight.

Great quality, buy a half-size larger than you think you need

This is an affordable shoe that is well built. Good (and great smelling!) leather, strong stitching, and the metal soles are securely fastened to the bottom by screws. I suspect this will last a long time.

Great product, look online how to size and you’ll be good

Product fit perfectly. I looked on the web how to size shoes, and traced around both feet on a piece of cardboard with a marker. Then measure across the outline and figure out your size according to the chart. Anyway, product is leather and taps sound great.
