The Baggallini Carryall Case is a nice match to Baggallini’s other “Carryall” bags (e.g. the large tote), and it’s made with Baggallini’s usual quality. But unusually for Baggallini, I think they just missed on a few things with this product. First the good: I mentioned the quality up above. It has nicely finished seams and the clear plastic of the inner compartments is thick and doesn’t feel as if it will crack or break, as some cheap plastic does. The zippers on the compartments and the little snap/strap closing the two sides together both feel sturdy. And the black material feels sturdy as well. I was able to fit several small travel size containers into the two pockets: shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, deodorant, toothpaste, makeup. And it closed easily with the containers inside. All-in-all it reminds me of a much better-made version of what I’m using for the purpose now – an old Continental BusinessFirst amenity kit tote from at least a decade ago (or more). But, I also think that, unusually for them, Baggallini has missed on a few things. First, when you look at it from the end (see the third picture down on the webpage), the inner clear plastic shows, and just looks kind of weird. It would have been a lot classier looking if they brought the black material more around the ends so the plastic isn’t visible when it’s folded closed. Second, I wish they would have built a hook into the closure strap, or somehow into the inside of the bag, so you could hang the tote in airplane bathrooms, which are often tight on space. Or even just in hotel/motel bathrooms, which can also be tight on space sometimes. Even my cheapo Continental tote has a hook! And third, the website claims it’s TSA friendly, and I’m sorry, it’s just not. The TSA website is pretty clear that you need a “quart size” bag for your liquids, and there is no way for TSA to know whether this is “quart-size” or not. And I’ve also had TSA personnel tell me that my bag has to be clear on both sides, even though that’s not an official rule on their website. But good luck telling a TSA agent that – they’ll just confiscate your stuff if they want to, regardless of whether you are in the right or not. Or make you leave the line and go back and check it - if you have time to. So there is no way I would try to take this through a TSA screening checkpoint… I’m finding it hard to believe that I’m going to give a Baggallini bag three-stars, since I usually really really like their products. But for once, I think they got enough stuff missing/wrong that that’s what I’m giving this Carryall Case.
