Had to soak 'em

I was gonna return these boots 'cause even though they're wide, my feet are pretty much flippers and, at the end of the day, my dogs were achin'! I kinda messed up and the return period slipped away, so I was stuck with the boots. Figured I might as well try the boot soaking trick. Soaked 'em for 30 mins in a warm/hot bath, then put 'em on with 3 pairs of socks and walked around for like half an hour. Let 'em dry for 24 hrs, put 'em back on, and bam! Boots fit. Give soaking your boots a shot if you got issues like I did.

Excided my expatiation

Disclaimer, I'm a Justin Boot man, have been all my life. I was looking for something different, a square toe work boot. After looking at many different boots, I kept going back to the Ariat boots and looking at the reviews. I kept seeing people say that they are comfortable, but warned you to go 1 size smaller because they run large. WOW, I was nervous. I wear a size 13 in every footwear. I ordered these boots in a size 12 wide. I'm so glad I listened to the reviews. Because I received these boots and wore them to work. It was a perfect fit. So if you are planning on buying these boots order them 1 size smaller, but make sure it's wide. I do believe that if I order a regular size 12 the toe would be to tight. I'm a big guy so it made sense to get the 12 wide. The fit was perfect and so comfortable to through out the day. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone. I promise this will not be the last Ariat boots I will buy. Take the chance you will not be disappointed. I will be doing another review based on the longevity of the Boots

So far so good.

I hesitate on these boots because this particular boot is made in China, but ariat still is the parent company and they don't put out just anything. That said, the pictures don't accurately fit the picture but they are still an attractive boot. These are a great square toe with no steel toe, which is what I wanted, steel toes hurt my toes! Before I purchased I checked with NuShoe to see if they work on these when a resole is needed and they said these are repairable, so that helped me decide to get them as I'd like a pair to keep around for awhile. I normally wear a ten and a half and that's what I ordered. I then noticed my justin boots are a size 10, so if you're used to those, you might need to order a half size larger. So far these are quite comfortable, I hope to see ariat quality and get years of service from these boots.

Durable and comfortable.

These are my daily wears. I'm in the hills and in the city. No matter wear, I'm comfortable and dry. Looking forward to wearing these for a long time to come.

If you wear a size 12W order a 11W

Would also recommend as a follow-up to my first review on sizing, i.,e., which was..."trust me if you wear a 12, order an 11." I also ordered an 11W even though I don't have a wide foot and it is a good fit. I think the square-toed style runs a little tight. On color, it's advertised as an antique gray but doesn't look anything like my grandmother ;-D. These boots are a rich dark brown, quality thick leather, and pretty much comfortable right out of the box.

These are great boots, just one thing

I bought a pair of these a few years back from a department store. They are super comfortable and just a really nice boot. I thought I would get a second pair. As far as for and comfort are concerned, the meet the mark, my issue with this particular pair was they showed up obviously factory seconds. The dye was splotches but more importantly, the boots were severely dehydrated. I've been working on them for a couple of days now and have rejuvenated the leather but I was a bit shocked at how "prickly" the boots were. I bought them for knockaround boots so I'm not super concerned and with some work they'll be fine. Update** I managed to get the boots soft and supple again using leather honey treatment and now have a great pair of well made boots. The dye job is still splotchy however for their purpose, these will be just fine.

Great boot, but they are oversized. I take a UK size 11 wide, and I sometimes struggle to fit into fashion footwear. These were about half a size to big. I should have taken the advice of other reviewers and ordered a smaller size. Uodate; UK Size 10.5 wide arrived today and they are a perfect fit. Very comfortable. I ordered the antique grey, but was aware that they are not actually grey - more of a dull brown. They look fantastic. They look and feel like I've had them for years. Amazon refunded the considerable postage fee for returning the original pair without a quibble. I am now a very satisfied customer.

Brilliant boots

Great boots with a good study feeling to them, I agree with some reviewers that they are probably more shoes made up to look like boots. A little tight to get on but once on are comfortable if a little tight over the top of my foot. Over all very happy with the product.

Tough leather,took some leather softener and a couple weeks to break them in but now my go to boots everyday
