Great boot

Comfortable but not durable

Let me start by saying these boots are some of the most comfortable work boots I've had. I'm on my feet a lot in harsh conditions and varying surfaces and these keep my feet feeling pretty alright throughout the day. But they do not hold up to hard work. The "waterproof" liner is really more water resistant than anything. Make no mistake if you step in a deep puddle a couple of times the water will start seeping through. Your feet might no get fully soaked, at least not very quickly, but you will feel the dampness seeping through pretty quickly. The orange tread pads on the bottom didn't take long to start falling off, they are only glued on and poorly at that. The leather on the toes is wearing through rather quickly. The outsoles are starting to come apart in some areas indicating that these boots don't have much time left in them. Yes I do oil them once or twice a month and clean them off regularly. I take care of my boots as best I can. I've only had them 4 months so naturally I'm not super happy with the toughness and durability of the boots. If you need a comfortable boot that doesn't have to work too crazy hard or withstand harsh environments or rough surfaces then I'd say grab these up, your feet will love them. But if you do real hard work on different often tough surfaces in different environments and weather than don't bother with these, they won't last. For $215+ I'd prefer to get at least 10-12 months out of the things.

Length was right on but i ordered a wide and it was still way to narrow. Seems to be good quality so far.

Aptly named Work Hog

I've worn these daily on a construction site for the last four months and I have to say these are the best damn work boots ever! I've tried many boots and none of them have performed as well. They are comfortable, durable, and protect my feet in the harshest conditions on the job. They also eliminate the back strain I get from wearing other cheaper boots for hours on end every day. The work hogs are an investment that pay huge dividends! Time will tell how well they hold up and I will update this review if they fail that test. For now I am very pleased.

Great Boot

My son loves these boots! He wears them every day for work for over a year now. The only issue is the soles on the inside of the boot are shot. The boot is holding up great! Hard to find an insert that fits properly.

Do Not Purchase ! Sole will split with minimal use !

Update !! After just a few months of minimal use , my son wanted to keep these boots as the new boots , he kept them in the closet after I got them for Christmas. He finally got them out to wear them in feb 2020 and the sole has split with just a few wears at work . He is a plumber , he says they are comfortable but he needs them to hold up to the Ariat name and workload ! They aren’t water proof if the sole splits with minimal use . Very dissatisfied with this purchase , won’t be buying boots on amazon again since the warranty is crap ! I will go to a store where I know they will honor their product !

Comfortable and waterproof

I really like these boots there are very comfortable and work good. They are definitely waterproof! Although about a week after getting them I was riding home on my bike in the rain and when I got home I took my boots off and my socks were damp. So I thought it was because going at highway speeds with the rain that the boots were leaking. So I got a hold of Amazon and they sent me a replacement pair within two days. I tried those and come to find out they don't leak my feet were sweating and it was getting my socks wet. So they don't breathe well as far as that goes but they are definitely waterproof. They work great on my motorcycle and they're comfortable at work. Definitely worth the money and I'm sure they'll last a long time.

Waterproof. 3 stars, could use a little better craftsmanship.

I am writing this review almost one year to the date of my purchase. I have been both satisfied and dissatisfied by these boots. What I have been extremely impressed about is the waterproofing. I walk through standing water and oil on a daily basis and these boots have held through to their water proof name. The biggest con is the craftsmanship. The sole of the boot started to split around the 6-8 month of use. Started small and got bigger over time. Still hasn’t affected the waterproofing but has become very annoying. Also, the lining of my left boot became loose and now the whole boot turns inside out when I pull out my foot. That’s VERY annoying. All in all these would be 5 star boots if they were a little more durable. I want to order another pair I’m just hesitant that I’ll get the same results. Please Ariat. Make these boots great again.

Composite toe is very strong. Boots are comfortable from store. Although I would suggest buying the ariat gel insoles they definitely made it better. The leather is a little week I got my boot with the pressure washer and it left a mark. Other then that they’re perfect

Very comfortable and made well. Great traction in snow and ice and the quality of materials used seem top notch. Great value for the money.
