Two player poker!

This is the perfect game of wits for two, with a great folding mechanic that keeps it all on the players to determine whether they think they can win any given hand. It also got plagiarized with zero credit given, to make a much less streamlined digital game called "marvel snap", so there's that.

Easy to learn but with good depth

Great game for quick play sessions. The rules are simple and easy to teach, but the mechanics allow for enough depth to make it interesting. I love the concept of deciding when to cut your losses and bluffing that you have a better hand than you actually do. Adds an element of strategy even when you are dealt a weak hand. The theme also fits the game nicely.

Card manipulation.

I heard so many good reviews and recommendations for this game so I decided to buy it. For me it’s just OK. I think it is the theme that carries it. My husband and kid-cousin like it. I like it because it’s short. They’re planning on a newer edition with different artwork. I don’t know if I would like the newer artwork or not, but the current one is OK. I mostly just focus on the card “power”/“action”, the number value, and the color. This game becomes more fun and interesting when you learn/memorize the cards. The card effects may be for your side, may affect both sides, or may affect the neighboring card stack, so the order of the areas “Land”, “Sea”, “Air” matter as they rotate the next round to “Sea”, “Air”, “Land”. And the other interesting part is a smart withdraw, because you decrease the points to the other person. That said, I don’t really want to memorize these cards, and I think it is theme-related. I’m fine with memorizing Tussie Mussie or Wingspan. So it boils down to numbers, colors, and memorizing cards. There is a theme on the cards, but I don’t see it - it’s just card manipulation to me. I think my cousin likes it because it’s a war-theme. My husband likes it because it’s a war theme, the card manipulation/ withdraw action and the time. But they don’t get to write the review :)

good game but better games are out there.

IF you like the theme --this is a fun game for you. If you like board games and the price point, I say pick another game. It was not amazing. I took it to the beach and left it behind in the common beach book/game cabinet hoping another family would enjoy it. Good production, good artwork. Easy to learn. Not a brain burner. I feel bad writing this review that might turn folks off, basically, if you like military themed games this is enjoyable.

Tight Two Player Game

The game is compact, fast and tight. For any one looking for a good two player game, this one does a great job balancing bad draws with feints and trickery. Highly recommended.

Great combination of simple and think-y

A quick game which is easy to learn but hard to master the strategy of. Great value for the price too.

Punches above its weight

This game is so much better than it has any right to be. Simple, easy to learn, lots of variation. Tense, each turn has a lot of weight. The glorious part comes when both players know the deck well enough to start bluffing. It’s very thematic as well. Lose the battle to win the war!

Been playing this a lot with my 8 year old son over the last 2 months. He loves it, I love it. Quick, very easy to get into and my son keeps learning cool tricks and combos as we keep playing.

Amazing 2-player game

Played 2 full games (3-4 rounds each) of this. Very very great strategy card game. High quality cards & tokens. Game is simple enough to pick up. Each player's turn feels tense and has a lot of power to each move.

Great, quick two player games.

Lots of variation from only 18 cards. Fast paced easy to learn, nice and thinky without being too taxing. Great way to get your friends into games without any heavy set up or rules.

Quick easy game that has more depth than you’d think. Both my kids (7 & 9) really enjoy playing it.
