Good value,could be much better
Over all it is a good faucet for the price range. The body needs to fit tighter to the mounting stem body is just a bit to loose about .010 too much clearance. The pullout is plastic and feels really cheap.The finish on the pullout looks almost chrome. Base of faucet needs to be on a pedestal to keep the body isolated from mounting surface. This would insure longer life of the faucet overall. If American Standard would fix these issues I am sure ratings would be 5 stars across the board. Price could be increased 20-40 dollars. With these changes in place the faucet would be the best value on the market.

Many problems & design issues
I had ordered this faucet as a replacement for a previous AS Mesa model faucet that rotted away in under 3 years because cheap, flimsy metal was used for the shank, instead of brass. This is the info I communicated back to the manufacturers customer service group after finally receiving the replacement and getting it installed and working: 1. The water hoses were crossed out of the box as the hose marked 'hot' is actually the cold water hose and vice versa. 2. Then after installing the new unit, I was only getting water flow out of one side of the faucet. I didn't want to send it back, so I decided to open up the cartridge first and take a look there. On doing this, I discovered that a seal had fallen out. Also the gates in the cartridge that channel water seemed to be binding. I loosened these gates up with a screw driver, replaced the seal and reinstalled the cartridge. I was now getting water from both cold & hot sides, so that problem was solved. 3. Seeing as I was still getting cold water out of the hot side and vice versa and did not want to remove the faucet again and attempt to fully disassemble the cartridge, I simply swapped the hose connections under the sink, so the hot labeled line now goes to the cold water line and vice versa. Second problem solved. 4. Then I noticed that the sprayer hose was leaking under the sink. This was occurring because the nut connecting the hose to the compression flange in the middle of the hose was loose. It was disappointing that AS doesn't use any plumbers tape on this connection to ensure a tighter connection. So finally, everything seems to be working. Now, a few comments on design issues. 1. I installed this faucet as a single post w/o the escutcheon plate because it will be easier to clean the sink. However, because this faucet doesn't independently swivel on top of a separate bezel, there is no way to seal the connection between the faucet and the sink with a rubber washer or caulk. Therefore, there is a risk of water residue on top of the sink working its way into the faucet base and dripping under the sink. 2. The spray hose with the weight attached is a poor solution. The weight gets caught on the sink drain pipe underneath. Surely, there is a better solution to return the sprayer unit and hose to its resting place? 3. It was disappointing to discover that the main unit was heavy metal but the sprayer was lightweight plastic. I would rather have the solid feel of metal. The sprayer also binds in the faucet handle. 4. Getting the allen head screw out/in to the handle while messing around with e inside of the cartridge (above)was a bit of a chore. It was difficult to see the screw head and even more difficult to line it up with the screw hole when reinserting it. Again, there has to be a better solution to make this easier to work with. I was lucky to have a collection of allen head wrenches but had I not, I would have had to drive to the hardware store to get one w/o even knowing what the proper size was. AS should really include the correct size allen head wrench with the unit! 4. The water volume/pressure is a bit weak. All-in-all, it is hard to recommend an American Standard faucet product.

Easy install and works well
I was impressed with how easy and simple the installation of this faucet was. The hot and cold water hoses are included as part of the faucet, and they are long enough to reach the valves, which are back in a corner. The hoses are also marked, which also helped. The most difficult part of faucet installation is lying on your back in the cabinet and reaching up behind the sink to secure the faucet to the sink. With this faucet there is only one large nut (finger tight) with 3 screws to tighten. No need to try to fit a large wrench in behind the sink. Every other faucet we've had defaulted to full stream mode. If you turned the faucet off, it would be in full stream when turned on again. This faucet remains in the mode last used, which we're having trouble getting used to. The faucet always has a film on it, unless we wipe it down with glass cleaner.

After two years started leaking
Since we haven't had much luck with Moen thought I would try an "American Made" product that I'm sure isn't totally true. We had this installed in November of 2020. In January 2023 the hose started leaking until finally on January 31, water was pouring into the sink cabinet when the faucet was turned on. A tad over two years old - unbelievable. All these plastic parts DO NOT LAST and all brands use them. I ended up just getting a standard Delta faucet with the sprayer hose. We'll see how long that lasts. The brands need to start going back to using metal/brass fittings so faucets will last longer.

Works good so far
Works good so far. I ran an extensive research of different systems hoping to find something as solid as it was 15 years ago, and, to my surprise, found none. All of them seems as made cheaply and less sustainable. The similar one I purchased at Home Depot worked 3 days only, what a pity! Hoping this one will stay longer.
