Unfortunately, the manufacturing tolerances on these valves are not very tight. I have been breastfeeding for close to four months and pumping at least 1-2 times per day for about three and a half months. I have already had to replace at least one valve due to a tear. I replaced the broken valve with one of the extra ones that came with original kit. However, a couple of days ago I noticed my pump loosing suction again. Unfortunately, I was not able to find any tears in the valves or any other issues with the rest of the pump components. I even went out and purchased a complete new set of valves thinking that the valves I had were defective somehow. That's when I finalized realized that the new Ameda replacement valves did not fit snugly against the flange. In fact, one did but the other one didn't. That is when I realized that the sizing of these valves are not very consistent. Only one of the four I had fit snugly against the flange. The result is the pump losing suction because the valves did not create a tight enough seal with the flange. Unfortunately, this is a problem with Ameda's production line and there is very little one can do to fix this problem as a consumer. Since how well the valve fits is hit or miss, it is not worth spending money on the more expensive Ameda valves. Instead, it is cheaper to buy a bunch of third party manufactured ones (like theseMaymom Pump Valves for Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pumps; Duckbills to Replace Ameda Breast Pump Valves; 4 Pieces in Retail Package (Factory Sealed). ) in the hopes that at least two of them will fit properly. If you have already spent the money on these and would prefer to not buy more, I have found that wrapping some cling wrap around the opening of the flange (similar to how one use teflon/plumbers tape around a pipe) and then attaching the valve helps to create a better seal. If you use this solution, then you will need to rewrap the opening every time you take the components apart to clean.

Do Not Use with Ameda Brand Pumps, Poor Suction ( White Valve)

To use with an Ameda brand pump your wasting money as these ( the old white valves) create a horrible suction. Ameda has updated their valve to a clear one that provides a much better suction and pump output than these old standard valves. Note: Can work with Lansinoh brand breast pumps. I tried these valves with my Signature Pro Double Electric and got a much better suction with these valves than the ones provided by Lansinoh, even the replacement valves have no good suction when compared to the suction I got using the Ameda brand white valve. If the clear ones were used, I'm sure the suction would be even greater. ( These are much cheaper to buy and easier to find than Lansinoh's valves. ) EDIT: I received their new clear valves in the mail, not the old white valve. I am 100 percent satisfied with my purchase and even happier that I can use these valves with my Lansinoh Signature Pro Double Electric Breast Pump.

Fits my Ameda Mya

When I first opened the package I thought there was no way these would fit my pump, however, it says for ALL Ameda pumps so I tried them. They fit perfectly. Instead of going around the outside of the plastic circle attachment, these fit inside of the attachment. SO yes, the size is different but they still fit! They work great and the output has been way better since I switched these out. Will buy again in a few months! Hope this helps!

Exactly what I needed

Yes they have little gaps in them but it doesn't ruin the suction at all. Fits my pumps exactly!

Rips easily

This was great because I needed the piece for my pump but they rip very easy from washing them and I already have to purchase another set. With the price being over $10 for 2 & it rips within a 2 weeks kind of sucks.

Will purchase again

I received the clear valves (same as the valves that came with my pump.) When they arrived I did notice there was very very small gap in each valve but I have not noticed that it has affected my output at all. They have not ripped or torn easily and I wash them every day. I pump 4-6 times during an 8 hour work day and usually once or twice on the weekend. I have been using this particular set for about two months now and am just now needing to replace them. The valves fit snugly onto my pump parts and do not come off easily. Ameda replacement parts are not readily available in brick and mortar stores so I will definitely be keeping an extra set or two on hand for emergencies. Arrived in a timely manner.

Bought for my Lansinoh double electric and manual pumps as the ones they came with started to tear. These fit perfectly!

Didn’t last

You know how you need to replace your valves when they no longer close at the end? That’s why I bought these! 2 weeks later of light use, they’re garbage. I EBF and pump a little each day to mix with my baby’s purées when he started solids.

Wears out so quick

They have to improve the quality, it breaks down too quick, I have to replace it one or two months (pump stops sucking, it sucks again if replacing with new one). Have no choice, I have to keep buying this replacement, will cause more to buy another brand of the pump

Terrible quality

The quality is terrible! it got damaged and has to be replaced every few weeks, what a waste of money. But have to keep buying because already bought the pump and don't want to spend the money to buy another brand pump. Stay away from this brand!
