Great for the price

Everything works well and as advertised. I'm still a bit nervous that this lock won't hold up to someone trying to break it, but my bike is usually stored at home and at work. No complaints so far, and it's easy to unfold and fold back up as needed.

Careful if you have an eBike

4/17/23 The length of the lock is too short too... ordering something different. -- Original The strap is too short. If you have an eBike (with a battery) you won't be able to tie the thing to the bike. Only reason I gave it 3 stars so people would see the warning. Otherwise it's pretty good. Should be great otherwise.

Misperceivable. Some difficulty with use. Code is on the key.

When stowed, it looks like a solid, handgrip-sized block of black metal, which these days is probably not a good impression to give. I had some difficulty unlocking it, the first time I actually used it out in the world. It turns out that the "replacement" keycode is printed on the key, so, it might be good to obscure this, especially if a stranger is leaning down to look closely as you're trying.

Convenient and easy to use

Lock is compact and mounts to bike frame, solving the problem of storage when I'm using a passenger seat instead of a rack bag. Lock is a bit on the short side, but usable as long as you don't need to lock your front wheel to the frame AND a bike rack. Just isn’t long enough it needs one or two-more strand

Ok, it is very ingenious and space saving; it is great and functions probably well on thin tire/ thin bikes. It is easy to place on my E-bike and is very sturdy. It just isn’t long enough it needs one or two-more strands. I have tried it in several applications and it is just too short it needs to be one strand longer to would be most excellent but one more would get the job done.

Very convenient fold, neat, material look robust.

This locks is very convenient to use, compact, easily attached and detached, fold put back in the case. Compare to those expensive one, this is the same one, functional. The Lectric XP lock which sells for 50 is almost identical, shipping of Lectric XP lock is 3 months, so buy this Amazon for the same lock, shipped in 2 days, not 3 months.

Great design

Good quality bike lock with mounting bracket. Packaged in a padded envelope, arrived in good condition. This is a nice design, made from hardened steel with a nice black finish, this has quite a bit of weight to it and looks versatile straight away. This comes perfectly within a bracket case which attaches to the bike via two strong velcro straps, securely keeping your lock in place whilst riding. There are two keys supplied with the bike lock. The lock is easy to use, undo the cover via the switch to put the key in, unlock and pull out the bar from the side. This attaches to the wheel and around the frame of the bike easily. There are 5 joints on the lock so each section can move at a different angle. This fit on both large and smaller bikes. I do think this bike lock seems quite good for security, its definitely durable and still maintains a modern look about it, it has a bit of weight to it and seems strong. I honestly do think this is a really good design, I dont think it would be easy to get through, the bendable joints would make it quite hard for someone to manipulate to try and break, the hardened steel is very extremely strong too. I would recommend this bike lock, unfortunately I can't see how much the lock would cost so I can't compare the product to the price, either way though, I do think it is definitely better than most generic cheaper locks I've seen and used before, I do think it's well made and a great design, the mounting bracket is a fantastic bonus, which is also made well too.

Avoid

So I want to love this, I really do as it is solid, and is a fairly good design. BUT it can be pricked in 3 seconds by a novice. In which case, for those that haven’t really thought about the quality of the locking mechanism - this really doesn’t keep your bike safe if you are faced with someone that has the right tools. Google the lock picking lawyer and the bike lock - you will see that the lock quality is sub standard for your pride and joy.

A heavy duty folding bike lock From AmazonBasics that looks good.

Amazonbasics Folding Bike Lock, 1-Pack - Black If you are like me and concerned about the amount of weight you are carrying around this sturdy bicycle lock is fairly heavy at over 800 grams. The carrying bracket is a slide in case that is rugged and rubberised and attached to the bike frame with Velcro or alternatively has holes if you are able to attach it with screws. The key can only be removed when it is locked and it is supplied with two keys. Fitting and unfitting it is a bit unusual at first by positioning the 5 articulated legs in the best place to secure it to a fixed point. Once fitted it does look secure so don’t lose the key. No price was given at the time of the review but similar designs that are not AmazonBasics are priced at about £40.

Sturdy yet compact bicycle lock

This lock is not like others. It comes folded up - strips of connected bits of metal that form a large loop so you can easily lock your bike to a fence may be more difficult with conventional locks. Once folded it clips neatly to the crossbar with velcro and can be quickly removed when required or used with another bike. This cannot be easily cut through - or would take quite a while (I'm no expert!!!!), but other locks seem extremely flimsy in comparison. It is well designed and functional and will deter any opportunistic thief who will go for the easier option.

Well made, two keys

When folder away it is very compact (and heavy) this is a great looking lock. I can't see any indication that it meets any insurance standard, but a lock for a low risk area or low value bike at a good price
