Make sure you install shade correctly!

I'd seen a couple of reviews that the pull chain was too short or the lamp itself was shorter than described. The shade goes on with the metal ring at the bottom of the shade which solves these issues. Was so relieved when I realized that!! Works perfectly gorgeous where I intended it to go.

Read if Buying More Than One of These!

Overall, we like these lamps. A couple of things to point out. When buying more than one, be aware that we got two and one shade was white and the other more of an ecru. We bought ANOTHER one, trying to get a match on white shades. The third lamp matched the ecru one most closely but was a bit dented. We kept it anyway. So we have three lamps now. (We’re too lazy to take one to the post office to return it!) Lastly, on one of the lamps the metal parts had something on them that was rough to the touch and I had to clean the whole thing. The good: nice light output and dispersal. Little pull chains have nice metal pieces on the end. Lamps are sturdy and work great.

Great lamp

The Adesso floor lamp has a heavily weighted base & sturdy post. The height can vary, depending on the lamp shade used. The shade that comes with lamp is too big for my needs. The original shade goes on the lamp with the longest portion pointing up. That allows the pull chain to be easily reached. Turning the longest part of the shade downward makes it hard to reach the chain. I used a smaller shade, Aspen Creative 31261 drum shade, allowing the lamp to fit the corner where it is placed. I used also the TooToo Star adjustable lamp shade harp/holder because the smaller shade goes on lamp differently from the original. I have used Adesso lighting products for many years & been pleased with all of them. This lamp has turned out to be exactly the same.

Not as advertised

Not a bad lamp, but didn't meet my expectations. Was looking for a bedside lamp with a pull chain, so after I read in bed at night, I can simply reach out pull the chain. But unlike the lamp pictured on Amazon, the chain does not hang below the shade for easy on and off, it's six inches up the shade, necessitating manuevering my body to get close enough to rthe lamp reach up the shade. Same goes with turning it off. The other misrepresentation, at least on the lamp I got, is it's only 53.5 inches tall, not 60.5 as stated. So if standing near the lamp when it's on, my eyes are bothered by the direct light.

Lamp looks great but you might have a hard time getting one that isn't damaged / defective

Tried to buy 2 of these lamps in the dark bronze to use in my living room. One has damage so I ordered a third to replace it but it was defective and couldn't be assembled. These lamps aren't that expensive, but they aren't cheap so I was hoping for a little better packaging from the manufacturer and little better quality in manufacturing. The one that was mostly undamaged looks good and is relatively stable and the shade is a nice shape. If you want a new product cosmetically I suggest you look elsewhere unless you like buying 2-3 more of the item than you need and returning the worst ones. More details: All 3 lamps I got had at least minor scuffing on the base, where 2 had very noticeable shipping damage and one had a bent base. The replacement I tried to get couldn't be assembled since the manufacturer forgot to cut threads into one of the segments of the lamp pole. I included a picture of this (left side is the defective one and right a normal segment).

Manufacturer quality control on this lamp leaves a lot to be desired

The lamp "pole" consists of four pieces; none of the pieces matched in finish when threaded together leaving a 4 segment look, which was unattractive. This happened on all three lamps I had ordered. One of the replacement lamps was someone's return (their mailing sticker was on the box!) and that had a damaged finish on the base. There were quality control issues on 2 out of 3 shades due to dents or staining. I believe manufacturer could have used a thicker/sturdier box for this product to avoid damage to the shades. Overall, a nice looking lamp but after 3 tries, I went with a higher quality brand floor lamp; that one clearly had a shipping container that was 50% thicker.

Light switch doesn’t work

The media could not be loaded. I love the look of this lamp but I would advise against buying it. It’s perfect in every way — it looks great, feels nice and sturdy — but there’s one big problem: It doesn’t turn off! The pull string that’s supposed to turn the lamp on and off doesn’t work. We have to unplug it to turn it off and on, which of course is annoying. We’ll keep the lamp, because we don’t want to mess with putting it in a box to send it back — especially during the coronavirus pandemic — but we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Look for another one!

Lampshade is more Beige than Off-White

This lamp is very well made and looks very nice, however if you're looking for a lampshade that is more off-white than beige this might not be the best for you. I bought this lamp to look similarly to other lamps I owned with off-white shades. This is just a quite a few shades darker than some of my more traditionally off-white lampshades. If you're looking for color specifically, just know that this will be more yellow/beige than you're expecting if you're hoping for off-white/white.
